Luis has worked in visual merchandising and has over twenty years of creating dynamic spaces within store experiences that support aspirational brands. In 2018 he started developing his dreams of working in interior design and home styling. It all became a reality when he and his partner had the opportunity to work together on their London home.
His passion for the use of bold colours along with statement pieces, the use of different textures and natural elements mixed with art and unique collectables picked out from international travels. His design choices create the perfect setting, bringing to life a comfortable home full of character.
Growing up in New York City in the '80s, I was always surrounded by street art, culture and entertainment. I am a self taught artist, and in the early 2000s I started painting acrylic on canvas to decorate my NYC apartment, as well as the homes of family and friends.
In 2012, I moved to London with my work in visual merchandising for a large American company. I spent the next few years exploring the city and when I discovered Shoreditch in East London I felt an immediate connection to NYC and its street art.
All my artworks are one of a kind pieces and I am influenced by street art, abstract design and colours, as well as my passion for interior design, architecture, modernism, and contemporary work. Each of my pieces are drawn from and connected to my thoughts and feelings in the moment when I create them, and I never paint with a specific end picture in mind.
These pieces are creations during my personal journey to always keep moving whilst under Covid-19 restrictions and lockdowns in London. All artworks are original and one of a kind pieces. I worked with pages from vintage books and kept the process raw to allow the text of the pages speak against the paint.
